Beginning The phpBay Site Build

I have decided that I am not going to rehash the older posts at this time. If you are reading along here, then most likely you already know the advantages of the eBay affiliate program and at least some information about the software that can be used to maximize your profits.

I will re-post some of the information at a later date. However, I have been promising you all a phpBay Pro site build using the newest 3.0 version, so I am going to get right into the heart of the matter and we're going to get this started.

Items You Will Need:

  • A chosen niche to build your site around. We will research this in depth at a later time. To get ideas for your first site, simply think of things you are passionate and knowledgeable about.
  • Domain Name or the ability to add WordPress in a folder on an already existing site
  • Hosting Account - To avoid problems and save time, I highly recommend making sure your host supports Ioncube. Edit: Ioncube support is no longer needed for phpBay Pro and should work on any hosting account. Hostgator is a reliable webhost that automatically supports this feature.
  • PhpBay Pro plugin - This is self-explanatory ;)
  • ePN Campaign Number for your new site - If you are not already an eBay affiliate, you can sign up here.
  • Your favorite WordPress plugins - I will make a post in the near future listing the plugins I like to use

By the end of this series, I will teach you how to build two different kinds of phpBay Pro sites. One will be in a standard blog format and the other will look like a commerce webstore. I will be building the standard blog format first and then add the commerce site either in a folder or sub-domain of the first.

Not all 70-536 applicants are cleared to write 70-642 or any of the 642-642 exams, which is why majority registers in 350-018 as well as 70-294 in addition to 642-845.

There are unlimited uses for this plugin and you are really only limited by your imagination. There is truly no right or wrong way to build these type of sites. Unless someone copies your work, each one will be unique.

Now go gather the above information and let's get our feet wet!

  1. From what I’ve done and seen these sites work really well. Especially if you install the recomended plugins like “all in one SEO” or/and “XML sitemaps”

those are two of the ‘key’ plugins you’ll need.

  2. Hi Jeff,

You’re absolutely right. These sites do perform very well and I consider the two plugins you mentioned as “must have”. I have a few others that I consider critical as well that I’ll be posting about soon. ;)

    Thanks for stopping by.
