Totally Off Topic – Eli Mattson America’s Got Talent

Eli Mattson
I know this is completely off topic from anything else here, but hey, it's my blog. Right? LOL
I've never been to keen to watch too many Reality TV shows. I've never understood the point of Big Brother and I never could get into Survivor. However, I've watched The Biggest Loser from its very first season. The contestants on that show absolutely amaze me and I love watching their transformations.
Two seasons ago, my husband started watching Americal Idol and I've kind of become hooked on that as well. I will say that I really don't care for all the audition sessions and I only start watching when the actual competition begins. I think last season was my favorite.
This new found addiction to American Idol led to us becoming fans of America's Got Talent. If you missed seeing the winner of the first season, go to YouTube and do a search for Terry Fator. He's the most amazing ventriloquist I've ever seen. It would almost be worth a trip to Vegas just to see him live.
We are now well into the second season of America's Got Talent. In fact, it's down to the Top 10. Again, I despised being tortured through the elimination rounds, however I've been absolutely captivated with one contestant ever since he auditioned. And that person is Eli Mattson.
He had me from the auditions when he sang Walking In Memphis. He gave me chills and has continued to do so every week. It's not very often that a singer comes along who can do that to me. Now you have to understand that I LOVE music - all kinds. If I can hear it and understand it, I'll listen to it. But I can count on less than 10 fingers the number of artists who can move me like that.
I thought from the very start that he had an Elton John quality about him - mixed with a little Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty and John Mayer for attitude. I think one of the things I like most about him is that he takes every song and makes it his own. Last night was Heroes Night and true to my suspicions, Elton John is his hero. If you have not seen last night's performance, I invite you to watch the video below and judge for yourself.
I'd really love to hear his take on "That's Why They Call It The Blues." Honestly, if he doesn't win, I hope someone takes him under their wing and makes him the star I think he deserves to be. What are your thoughts?

I completely agree with you. In my opinion, he is somebody who can appeal to people of all ages and I believe he would be a great addition to Vegas.
I hate that last night was the finale. I looked forward to seeing and hearing him each week. Not to mention that once the auditions were over, this season seemed extremely short.
At any rate, I am hoping his performance last night was enough to win it for him. It will be interesting to see the results.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope our guy wins.

He just makes me melt everytime I hear his voice. Someone needs to write songs for him because I would definately buy his music. I will be so disappointed If I can’t hear him sing after the show is over. He definately has my support and I hope others as well so he can suceed no matter how he does in the competition.

Loved Eli Mattson!!!! Can not believe he did not win. I went to Ellen Degeneres web site and under “Be A Part Of The Show” sent in a suggestion for her to have him on her show. If lots of people do this, maybe it will happen and what a boost that would be!!!!!

Hi Leah and Rose,
I know how you both feel. Was so disappointed that he did not win.
As a fellow Missourian, I know I should have been rooting for the man who won, but I just have a hard time believing people will go pay to see someone sing Opera in Vegas.
As for Eli, I truly hope someone signs him and gives him a record deal. I don’t say this often, but I would buy just about anything he would care to sing.
By the same token, I would have loved to have seen what he could have done and how far he would have gone on American Idol instead. At least we would have seen more of him.
@Rose, that’s a great idea suggesting he be on the Ellen show. I’ll have to go put in that request as well.
Thanks to you both for leaving a comment. Let’s hope this is not the last we see of him!

I am a newbie in the field of seo and and now i am very much inspired and have a clear vision for my future in this arena known as SEO. I think the most important thing to make it big here is “patience”, if you have that you are a winner here.

America’s Got Talent do provide an alternative platform for those who die for stardom. However I would suggest removing singing and dancing from the show as it conflicts with American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance.
