Time To Celebrate – News Update

First off, I celebrated my 35th birthday on Thursday. I got to spend the day out of town with my husband and I have to admit that it was nice to uplug for a day and see some different scenery. I also received the most amazing gift which I will get to in a minute.

What I am sharing with you in this post should give everyone the courage to keep plugging along with your sites and most importantly - NEVER GIVE UP!

If you read any of the information on that site, you also know that I am a licensed cosmetologist and that I started a blog on Blogger several years ago - BizEWomanBeautyTips.blogspot.com - where I shared tons of tips to save money by making your own beauty and skin care products at home as well as supplied time saving tips.

This past Wednesday, I was contacted by a reporter with The Buffalo News - the daily newspaper in Buffalo, New York - who had found my sites doing a Google search on frugal beauty tips. She was working on a story for the paper on how to save money in your beauty and fashion routine in the current economic times and wanted to talk with me for the story in their paper.

Now what I need for you folks to understand is that I live in a small town in southwestern Missouri. And here I have someone in Buffalo, New York seeking to talk with me. Pretty amazing.

I did not get the email until after hours on Wednesday, however she called me on Thursday for the interview. When we finished speaking, we thanked each other for the time and I was told the story would run in Saturday's paper.

Sure enough, it is there on the front page of The Buffalo News website and not only was I mentioned, but my sites as well. Something else that I found pretty amazing is that she also spoke with Peter from the TV show "Peter Perfect" on the Style channel for this story. How awesome is that to be mentioned in the same article as a celebrity stylist? I'm still kind of in awe over that.

What a wonderful birthday gift!

Folks, I am not sharing this story in order to brag. It just goes to show you that putting your time and effort into something that you believe in can have great rewards.

I'll be back a little later on with some more information and as well, it is just about time to update the stats again for the phpBay build site.
